Benefits of Cardamom

Cardamom is a spice with a warm, sweet aroma and a unique taste. It's commonly used in Indian cooking and has numerous health benefits. Cardamom is loaded with antioxidants, can help stem inflammation, and may also improve blood sugar, making it a great meal to start your day!

Why Coconut Cream?

Coconut cream is a special kind of fat. It's naturally high in fat and protein, but unlike many other cooking fats, it's low in saturated fat—the bad kind of fat. (I'll spare you the science lesson; just know that coconut cream is an excellent source of healthy fats.)

Coconut cream has more than twice as much fiber than skim milk—almost 4 grams per cup! This means that your body will digest the carbs in oat overnight oats at a slower rate by keeping you fuller longer. That makes these the perfect breakfast for people who are trying to lose weight or just want something delicious and nutritious to eat first thing in the morning!

Tips for Success

  • Use a high-quality coconut cream. You can get away with using the cheap stuff here. You want an ingredient that is rich, creamy, and decadent—not watered down or clumpy.

  • Grind your own cardamom from the pod if you really want to maximize nutrient availability.

  • Make sure you use chia seeds and not flax or something else as a substitute. You really need the magic of the chia seeds to get the pudding texture right.
